Our Best- Vol 1, Issue 2

Well, friends, here we are on the cusp of the next week. On the eve of the next thing that needs to be done, the item to cross off the list, or the project that needs to be finished.

Take a moment just now and breathe. Enjoy the moment you are in right now. It’s precious. The coming week is bound to have many things in it. What do you plan to focus on?

The joy, laughter, pride, and peace?

Or the difficulties, stress, sadness, disappointment?

Pick what you want to focus on. I guarantee you’ll want to look for the good. Below is a free printable note card that you can tape to your mirror, attach to your computer…put wherever you need the reminder.

Look for the good in your day…it’s there, I promise!

Be good!

Our Best- Vol 1, Issue 1

Our first newsletter…we promise we’ll keep it short!

Sometimes the beginning of a week can be daunting. There’s so much on the horizon that needs to get done and often times, it’s only you that can get it done. From laundry, checkbook matters, bathing little children, appointments, traffic, weekly activities…it can all be so overwhelming.

Many times, the feeling of being overwhelmed is enough to reduce the quality of what we do. And that’s when we must remember why we do what we do. This is the maintenance of the family. It’s God-honored work and it’s always going to bear fruit. Try to find joy in what you’re tasked to do for the week. Fill your lungs with fresh air and organize your tasks and responsibilities. Then, complete them one by one.

In the days of smartphones and technology, paper seems so antiquated. But nothing beats seeing my tasks spelled out in front of me and the feeling of accomplishment I have when I see those items crossed off or checked off the list.

We are giving away this free printable to help you stay organized for the week.

It's all gotta get done!(Click link for printer-friendly version: It’s all gotta get done!)

So, get going on your week…write it down and watch the items get accomplished. You can do it!

Encourage Each Other!

This post is for the ladies…how often do you find yourself feeling alone? Overwhelmed? Not good enough?

We should encourage each other whenever we can. Sometimes it’s hard because we are all running around all the time making sure everyone and everything else is how it should be.

Here is a free notecard you can print out and keep in your purse. When you see another woman who may look exhausted, glum, frustrated…whatever…write a quick encouraging note and give it to her!

I’m quite the little zoo!

zebra-470305_960_720A few years back, boy child and girl child were enrolled in a preschool and as the school year was coming to a close, we wanted to do something special for the teachers from the kids. So I found a free zoo print background and printed the below poem I wrote on top of it to create a greeting card. Then I had the kids place zoo critter stickers all over the paper as they saw fit.

The teachers loved the card the kids had made and they so enjoyed giving their own sticker creations to their teachers. These ladies who cared for our children were so loving and kind every single day and we love and miss them dearly.

I’m Quite the Little Zoo

Like the lion and the Tiger,
I am getting big and strong.
I am also growing taller
Like Giraffe with neck so long.

Like the stripes upon the Zebra’s back,
There’s no one else like me.
I can play and climb and run around
Like a Monkey in a tree.

As a wise and wrinkly Elephant,
I am smarter every day.
I’m tough like Mr. Alligator
When I go out to play.

I’ve grown so much in this whole year
Thanks so much to you.
I’m many things as you can see
I’m quite the little Zoo!

Here’s a free printable version of the poem so you can use it with your child to make a handmade gift for your child’s teacher! Enjoy!!

A gift for you!

You guys, your little kids are gonna love this! It’s a great way to have some giggles together with a really short story they can make very unique. So, the instructions are pretty simple…

Grown up: Copy the story below, “A Day at the Farm!” and then paste it into a MS Word document (or similar program). Print it out so you can write in the blanks. You’ll see there are several groups of words under the spaces…ask your little kid to pick a choice from the words and then write in what his or her choice is. Once all the words have been picked, read the funny story to the child. Or, if your child has started learning to read, let him or her try to read it aloud to you.

Guaranteed laughter…we tested it! Enjoy and let me know what you think! 😊

A gift for you!

So, my kids love reading bedtime stories and to hold our place, we’ve been using all sorts of make-shift bookmarks so I decided to make some official ones for them. To say thank you for your friendship, I’m also sharing them with you. So if you have little ones in your life or if you would like a cute little bookmark yourself, just copy this printable and paste it into MS Word (or similar program), print on card stock-type paper, cut them out, punch a hole in the top and add a ribbon…or don’t add the ribbon and be a rebel! 🙂

Enjoy!
We will read more tomorrow!
